Gazzana. for' his <br />public service as a Councilman-of Ward 1 in the City of Lakewood..- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anthony J. Gazzana was elected to 'the office of <br />Council for Ward 1 of the City of Lakewood for the'term commencing <br />January 1,.1988 and served continuously in that ~capacity'until <br />December 31, 1991, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ Mrl Gazzana ably and with distinction served <br />this Council and our community as Vice President of Council for <br />the years-of 1990 and 1991 in addition to serving as Council's <br />representative on Lakewood Hospital Association's Board of <br />Trustees for two years, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Anthony Gazzana served as a two year member on the <br />National League of Cities' Human Development Policy Committee and <br />served on their 1990 steering committee, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Tony Gazzana effectively served our community <br />with his. Work relating to the environment, hosting of the "Support <br />our Troops" -rally, Niagra Park and Clifton Boulevard <br />Beautification, and demonstrated his concern for the youth of our <br />city by initiating numerous programs and served on numerous <br />committees, including the PET (Prevention, Education,.Training) <br />project, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, :during 'his four year'tenure .as Councilman, <br />Mr. Gazzana was recognized as a conscientious, effective and <br />respected iegislator,..Working diligently and extensively for the <br />promotion, progress and betterment of the City' of Lakewood and all <br />of its residents especially its youth, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the outstanding <br />public service rendered by Anthony J. Gazzana as a Lakewood <br />Councilman be given public congnizance; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor extend <br />their appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this <br />community for his four years of distinguished public service as a <br />Councilman of Ward 1 of the City of Lakewood and further that this <br />Council wishes him continued years of success, health, happiness <br />and prosperity in the days and years ahead. <br /> <br /> Section <br />authorized and directed to forward certified,.~ <br />Resolution to Anthony J.
