RESOLUTION NO: 6716-92 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION to commend Horace Mann Middle being the pilot school in Ohio to participate in the Hotline". School on "Homework WHEREAS, the Homework Hotline is a system that allows parents to obtain information about what their son or daughter is currently working on in school, homework assignments, and other important information pertaining to their class, and WHEREAS, this free information hotline works like voice mail; after calling the telephone number one simply selects the teacher whose information one would like to receive and enter the appropriate four-digit code, and WHEREAS, the child's teacher will update the information at the end of each school day, and WHEREAS, the system does not only provide a valuable service for parents but also provides students access in order to remind them of their daily~ responsibilities, and WHEREAS, the system's access codes were sent to Horace Mann parents in time for the fourth grading period, which started March 30, 1992, and WHEREAS, efforts are continually being made by Principal Allen Senkovich who oversees the hotline program, Science Teacher Tom Jones who is researching statistics and the faculty as a whole all aiming to improve parent involvement, and WHEREAS, parent involvement student success; now, therefore, is considered a key to BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY oF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council for and on behalf of the citizens of Lakewood commend the outstanding efforts of Horace Mann Middle School and Principal Allen Senkovich on exploring new concepts in helping Lakewood students. Section 2.
