RESOLUTION <br /> <br />6717-92 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br /> Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Lakewood High School Junior Gwen <br />Snorteland, on being selected to attend a summer honors research <br />program at the National Synchrotron Light Source from July '24 to <br />August 6, 1992. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this program <br />National Laboratory in Upton, New <br />of basic and applied research in <br />and <br /> <br />is hosted by the Brookhaven <br /> York and deals with the study <br />the physical and life sciences, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS), <br />the world's brightest source of x- and vacuum ultraviolet <br />radiation, is the major device through which these studies are <br />pursued, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Gwen's achievements also include being a <br />member of the prestigious Watters Science Seminar, her <br />being selected to attend the "Escapes" Institute at Purdue <br />University last summer, and her present position as secretary of <br />the Lakewood chapter of the American Field Service, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by these outstanding accomplishments, Gwen <br />Snorteland has bestowed honor and distinction not only upon <br />herself but upon the entire Lakewood Community as well and these <br />accomplishments should be recognized in a proper and fitting <br />manner; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor for and on <br />behalf of the citizens of Lakewood hereby commends Gwen Snorteland <br />for her many achievements and further wishes Gwen continued years <br />of success. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
