RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6738-92 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION extending the appreciation of this~ <br />community to the members of the Lakewood Hospital Paramedic <br />Squad for their outstanding service. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Emergency Department of Lakewood <br />Hospital houses the Lakewood Paramedic Squad creating a <br />unique operation for comprehensive emergency health <br />services in our community, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on-site at Lakewood Hospital the <br />paramedics work full time in the emergency room and rotate <br />through the cardiac unit and surgery for in-service <br />training, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAs, the Lakewood ParamedicS' save-rate of <br />twenty per cent of coronary attacks is above the national <br />average of fourteen point nine per cent, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Paramedics also assist with two-way <br />radio and telemetry communication with the "WeShare" (West <br />Shore Area Rescue Squads) rescue departments of Lakewood, <br />Rocky River, Bay and Westlake, North Olmsted and Fairview <br />Park, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Paramedics are highly devoted and <br />dedicated individuals in this community by virtue of their <br />consistently close contact with the residents and family <br />members at their homes during medical crises or on the <br />streets serving accident victims as well as in the <br />classrooms teaching CPR, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, their compatibility with our Police and <br />Fire Divisions is demonstrated at all medical-related 911 <br />calls, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the knOwledge, skill and enthusiasm <br />displayed by our Lakewood Paramedic Squad render them <br />second to none given the number of people they serve in a <br />relatively small radius, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the <br />extraordinary service delivered by the Lakewood Hospital <br />Paramedic Squad be given due recognition; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1.
