RESOLUTION NO. 6749-92 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br /> Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> ~,~ RESOLUTION commending the members of the Lakewood <br />Fire Department for their efforts in battling three fires at <br />Ridgewood, Woodward, and Madison Avenues during the months of <br />July and August, 1992. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of the Lakewood community have <br />valued the services provided by the Lakewood Fire Department, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, three fires that broke out in the months of <br />July and August reminded us of the trials and tribulations these <br />brave people endure in the course of their duties as <br />firefighters, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, for the individuals who confronted fires at <br />Ridgew°od and Woodward Avenues and for the entire Fire Department <br />as a whole deployed to fight the blaze on Madison Avenue our <br />appreciation and commendation is therefore afforded them, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the hope of this Council that this very <br />small gesture in the nature of this formal resolution relates the <br />profound appreciation felt for each and every member of the <br />Lakewood Fire Department who overcome physical and emotional <br />hardship to ensure our community's welfare and safety; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> section 1. That the Council and Mayor on behalf of the <br />citizens of Lakewood express our commendation and deepest <br />gratitude for the members of the Lakewood Fire Department whose <br />commitment to firefighting was so aptly demonstrated in three <br />recent Lakewood fires. <br /> <br /> Section 2. Be it further resolved that we express our <br />indebtedness to the members of the Rocky River and Westlake Fire <br />Departments for so ably providing assistance to our own Fire <br />Department fighting flames on Madison Avenue. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the <br />Lakewood Fire Department, c/o Fire Chief Lawrence Mroz, 12567 <br />Clifton Blvd, Lakewood, OH 44107, to the Rocky River Fire <br />Department, 21012 Hilliard, Rocky River, OH 44116, the__%~lake <br />Fire Department, 3200 Crocker Road, Westlake, OH 44~ th~ a <br />copy of this ResolutiOn be spread upon ~t~~f Ithis! <br />meeting. ~~ <br /> <br />Approved: /~& g /qq~ <br /> <br /> <br />
