RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6755-92 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION designating and proclaiming October 5, 1992 as <br />Child Health Day in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, President Bush has proclaimed OctOber 5, 1992 as <br />Child Health Day, focusing on the importance of childhood immunizations; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, immunizations are among the <br />cost-effective medical interventions available; and <br /> <br />most vital and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the tragic toll of disease and even deaths Which <br />result from lack of childhood immunizations is preventable; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, children can be vaccinated against memsles, mumps, <br />rubella, polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hemophilus influenza <br />type B and hepatitis B through a series of shots beginning as early as <br />birth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on Child Health Day 1992, and throughout the year, <br />we must emphasize the importance of childhood immunizations and take the <br />necessary steps to make such immunizations avai]able to all infants and <br />children; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor support the goals of <br />the State of Ohio and the President of the United States and designate <br />and proclaim October 5, 1992 as Child Health Day in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
