RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6775-92 <br /> <br />BY:Boscia, Gallagher, Georg <br /> Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, <br /> Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the participation of Lakewood <br />in an application for a multi-jurisdictional regional minimum <br />security misdemeanant jail to be submitted by the Westshore <br />Council of Governments; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the impact of City jail overcrowding has <br />penalized and has negatively impacted the health, welfare and <br />safety of Lakewood citizens and negatively impacted the finances <br />of Lakewood; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a multi-jurisdictional regional minimum <br />security misdemeanant jail will positively impact and reduce jail <br />overcrowding and improve the overall safety and the overall <br />effectiveness; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby <br />authorized to join with the Westshore Council of Governments to <br />make a joint application to the Ohio Governor's Office of <br />Criminal Justice Service for up to 60% funding assistance to <br />renovate/construct a multi-jurisdictional regional minimum <br />security misdemeanant jail pursuant to Ohio Amended Substitute <br />Senate Bill Number 131 and have joint responsibility for the cost <br />and operation of this facility. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this resolution were adopted in an open me%~ of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this ~ounc~l--~nd any of its <br />committees that resulted in such~ ~~t ~ were in meetings <br />open to the public in compliance~ %~~e ;a~/req~irements. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />CLERK <br /> <br /> <br />
