RESOLUTION NO. 6812-93 BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION extending congratulations to Carol Heiss-Jenkins, 1960 Olympic Gold Medalist, for her outstanding coaching which has produced two national champion figure skaters from Lakewood's Winterhurst. WHEREAS, Carol Heiss-Jenkins, 1960 Olympic Gold Medalist, has devoted the last 16 years to coaching and building the Winterhurst Figure Skating Club to an organization admired throughout the United States and the world, and WHEREAS, her Winterhurst students, Lisa Ervin and Tonia Kwiatkowski, placed second and third respectively at the 1993 United States Figure Skating Association's National Championships, and; WHEREAS, Carol Heiss-Jenkins has used her exceptional talent and experience to assist others in achieving their goals and realizing their dreams through coaching, bringing honor and recognition not only to herself and the Winterhurst Figure Skating Club but to our entire community; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor hereby extend 'to Carol Heiss-Jenkins praise and congratulations for her contribution to figure skating, Winterhurst and to the United States National team. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Carol Heiss-Jenkins, c/o Winterhurst Figure Skating Club, 14740 Lakewood Heights Blvd., Lakewood, Ohio 44107 and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. Section 3.
