_RESOLUTION NO. 6819 - 93 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Gallagher, George, <br /> Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring Grace Presbyterian Church on the <br />10th anniversary of the first community meal program established <br />in Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, March 24, 1983 marked the first cozm~unit~ meal <br />held at Grace Presbyterian Church to respond to difficult <br />economic times, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through the dedication of the Board of <br />Deacons, the pastor, and many volunteers, the members of Grace <br />Presbyterian Church were the first to provide food for the needy, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, volunteers at Grace Presbyterian Church are <br />active through the year holding fund-raisers, bake sales, and car <br />washes to fund their important work of feeding the hungry, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these dedicated members of Grace Presbyterian <br />Church have shared their know-how and experience with other <br />churches and are responsible for helping many churches start <br />their own meal programs, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that the <br />extraordinary service delivered by these unselfish individuals be <br />given public cognizance and recognition; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That' this Council enthusiastically extends <br />its congratulations and commendation to Grace Presbyterian Church <br />on the 10th anniversary of providing meals to the needy. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this <br />Resolution to Grace Presbyterian Church c/o Dennis Seeds, <br />Secretary, Board of Deacons, 1659 Rosewood, Lakewood, '-Ohio <br />44107, and that a copy of this Resolution~ -~pread ~pon the <br />minutes of this meeting. / <br /> <br />. pprovea.'
