RESOLUTION NO. 6949-94 BY: Boscia, Flannery, George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION to commend the Lakewood High School Lady Rangers Varsity Basketball Team for their exceptional 1993-1994 season. WHEREAS, the Lady Rangers have recently completed an outstanding season in which they claimed second place in the Lake Erie League, were their sectional and district champions, and earned a berth in the regional semi-finals at Willard gymnasium as one of Ohio's "Sweet 16"; and WHEREAS, the 1994 Lady Rangers put together an overall record of 20 wins and 5 losses, which included a 14-game winning streak; and WHEREAS, the team, consisting of Leslie Favre, Gretchen Heideloff, Christine Lamparyk, Carrie Pulling, Mandy Thoburn, Christine Czechanski, Danielle Mueller, Noreen Eddy, Katie Olson, Jessica Barnhart, Summer Erb, and Annie Stahlheber, achieved their successes under the leadership of head coach Marc Lewis; and WHEREAS, the Lady Rangers through untiring hard work, perseverance, determination, talent, and teamwork, have brought to life the spirit of the purple and gold at its finest, and have brought distinction and honor not only to themselves, but to the entire Lakewood community; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor hereby extend to the Lady Rangers and their coach, Marc Lewis, its commendation, as well as that of all citizens of Lakewood, for their outstanding athletic achievement during the 1993-1994 basketball season. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Coach Marc Lewis, Lakewood High School, 14100 Franklin Boulevard, Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting.
