CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO RESOL~ION NO. 6 9 7 5 - 9 4 BY: Boscia, George, Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION directing the Board of Elections to place upon the ballot at the regular election to be held November 8, 1994, the question of levying a separate municipal income tax of 1/2% on and after January 1, 1995, to be shared by the City of Lakewood, Ohio(the "City") and the l_akewood City School District. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Lakewood, Ohio (the "Council") and the Board of Education of the Lakewood City School District, Ohio have entered into an agreement (the "Agreement") pursuant to Section 718.09, Ohio Revised Code, to submit an income tax ordinance to the voters of the City and to share the proceeds of such income tax; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 718.09, Ohio Revised Code, this Council has heretofore passed Ordinance No. 90-94providing for the levying of such income tax; and WHEREAS, Section 718.09, Ohio Revised Code, requires this Resolution be adopted in order to submit such income tax ordinance to the voters; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City of Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, that: Section 1. This Council specifies November 8, 1994 as the date of the regular election to be held on the question of whether Ordinance No. ~0-94, levying a one-half percent (1/2%) municipal income tax, the revenues of which shall be shared by the City and the Lakewood City School District, shall be approved. Section 2. The Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, is hereby directed to conduct said election at the regular places of voting in the City as established by said Board within the times provided by law and to give notice of said election as provided by division (C) of Section 718.09 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 3. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to certify a copy of this Resolution and a copy of Ordinance No. 90-9~ to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, no later than August 25, 1994.
