PLACED ON 1ST READING ~ REFERRED to the FINANCE <br />Committee on 1/3/95. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />6992-95 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Flannery, George, <br />Gibbons, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director <br />of Public Works to enter into a contract with Mahnen <br />Machinery in the amount of $9,263.23 for repair of the <br />City's front end loader. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 20, 1994 the City's front-end <br />loader, Vehicle #157, was taken out of service for repairs <br />that could not be completed by City mechanics; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 21, 1994, Mahnen Machinery, the <br />authorized John Deere distributor for this area, was <br />consulted concerning the front end loader and on October <br />24, 1994 it was transported to their service garage for <br />repair; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, October 31, 1994, due to leaf season <br />commencing, Mahnen Machinery was advised to proceed with <br />the necessary repairs after quoting $6,000 to $8,000 for <br />the work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Vehicle #157 was returned to service on <br />November 11, 1994, in time to complete the City's leaf <br />collection, and an invoice in the amount of $9,263.23 was <br />received November 30, 1994; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the repair of Vehicle #157 in time for leaf <br />season fulfilled the requirements of SeCtion 111.04 A (3) <br />of the 'Administrative Code as it was necessary to meet an <br />emergency in connection with the operation or maintenance <br />of City equipment. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Director of Public Works is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with <br />Mahnen Machinery in the amount of $9,263.23 for repair of <br />the City's front end loader. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all <br />formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to <br />the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations <br />of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in <br />such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, <br />in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
