Action deferred on 1/17/95. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO: 6993-95 BY: Boscia, Flannery, George, Gibbons, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Smith <br />A RESOLUTION to congratulate Coach Marc Lewis on the <br />three hundredth victory'of his extraordinary career as Lakewood <br />High School Girls Basketball Coach. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Coach Lewis has been a Lakewood resident for <br />many years and teaches at Emerson Middle School; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Marc Lewis is in his seventeenth season as <br />Lakewood High's Girls Varsity Basketball coach; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1988, he entered the Ohio Coaches 200 <br />Victory Club and in 1993 was inducted into the Ohio Coaches Hall <br />of Fame; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his coaching tenure at Lakewood High <br />School he has been named Sun Newspapers Coach of the Year, <br />Associated Press Lake Erie District and twice Associated Press <br />All Northeast Lakes District Coach of the Year, United Press <br />International AAA Ohio Coach of the Year, Greater Cleveland <br />Coaches Association Coach of the Year and was named four times <br />Lake Erie League Coach of the Year; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the above honors represent the well deserved <br />recognition Coach Lewis has received during his coaching career <br />arising, in part, from the multiple occasions Lakewood has been <br />Lake Erie League Champion, Sectional and District Champions and <br />have travelled to the Regionals under Coach Lewis' direction; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Marc Lewis has used his exceptional talent and <br />experience to assist others in achieving their goals and <br />realizing their potential through coaching hundreds of Lakewood's <br />young women; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that the auspicious <br />occasion of this, Coach Marc Lewis' 300th victory, be given <br />public cognizance and recognition. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That on behalf of the residents of the City of <br />Lakewood, the Council and the Mayor hereby extend to Coach <br />Marc Lewis their heartiest congratulations on the occasion <br />of his'300th Victory and their sincere appreciation for his <br />dedicated service to the young women of our Community. <br /> <br />Section 2.
