RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7048-95 BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, Flannery, George, <br />Gibbons, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Pa{rol Officer Larry R. <br />Kirkwood, Jr. on being selected as one of two top DUI/DWI <br />arresting officers in the Division of Police of the Department of <br />Public Safety. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Larry R. Kirkwood, Jr. was selected by the <br />Lakewood Police Department along with officers from all <br />departments in the Greater Cleveland area and surrounding suburbs <br />for an honor by MADD on Sunday, April 30, 1995 at Windows On The <br />River for its fifth annual MADD SALUTES OUR BRAVE ROAD WARRIORS <br />ceremony; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the basis for which Officer Kirkwood was <br />nominated was his rank from among his peers for the highest <br />amount (twenty-five) of DUI/DWI arrests in 1994; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, MADD states that all of their efforts would be <br />worthless if they were not nurtured and supported by the <br />dedicated and brave "road warriors" of which Larry R. Kirkwood, <br />Jr. is one such law enforcement officer; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is most a~propriate that the difference <br />made by Officer Kirkwood going above and beyond the call of duty <br />to make roads a safer place in Lakewood be given public <br />cognizance and recognition. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That on behalf of the residents of the City <br />of Lakewood, the Council and the Mayor hereby extend to <br />Patrol Officer Larry R. Kirkwood, Jr. their heartiest <br />congratulations and their sincere appreciation for his <br />outstanding dedicated service in law enforcement. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby <br />authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of <br />this resolution to Officer Larry R.
