).rem ?3 ADD ON REFERRED TO COtqblIT'i'EE Ok THE ;~biOLE 05 17)4/95. <br /> <br />I~ESOLUTION ~NO. <br /> <br />7096-9S BY: Boscia, <br /> Corrigan, Flannery, George, Roth, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, Ohio, to <br />enter into a professional services agreement with the Westside Industrial Retention & Expansion <br />Network, an Ohio not-for-profit economic and industrial development corporation (hereinafter, <br />WIRE-NET) and the Western-Elmwood-Berea Corporation, an Ohio not-for-profit community <br />development corporation (hereinafter, WEBCO; together, along with the City. of Cleveland, <br />Ohio, an Ohio municipal corporation, the "Project Team"), for the purpose of retaining a <br />consultant and implementing a plan for the comprehensive development and redevelopment of <br />indusuSal and commercial uses in the area comprising both the Lakewood and Cleveland <br />portions of the Berea Road and West 117th Street corridors. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood desires to participate with the Project Team in the <br />formulation of a plan for the comprehensive development and redevelopment of industrial and <br />commercial uses in the Berea Road and West 117th Street corridors; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, WEBCO possesse~ valuable expertise in identifying issues related to <br />formulating and conducting such a plan as project manager, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, WIRE-NET has agreed to serve as fiscal agent in the implementation of <br />such a plan, including, without limitation, the managing of all funds related to such plan and <br />contracting directly with any selected consultant; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood will bem~fit from the economic growth and the <br />retention of industrial and commercial uses resulting from the development and redevelopment <br />of the study area comprising the Berea Road and West 117th Street corridors; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, is hereby <br />authorized to enter into a professional services agreement with W. EBCO and ~,V[RE-NET for the <br />purpose of retaining a consultant and assisting in implementing a plan tbr the comprehensive <br />development and redevelopment of industrial and commercial uses in the area surrounding the <br />Berea Road and West 117th Street corridors; said agret~ent shall be made in conjunction with <br />the City of Cleveland entering into a similar agreement with WEBCO and/or WIRE-NET, and <br />Lakewoed's agreement shall contain such terms and conditiom as deemed necessary by the <br />Director of Law to protect the public interest. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this <br />Council. and that all such deliberation of the Council and of any of its committees that resulted in <br />such formal action were in me, tings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
