RESOLUTION NO. 7111- 96 BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, George, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION to commend Michael E. Murman for Ms public service as Law Director and Prosecutor for the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, Mr. Murman, was employed by the City on December 10, 1979 and was appointed Law Director on January 1, 1991; and WHEREAS, Michael Munnan received his Juris Doctorate degree (magna cum laude) from Cleveland State University and is a member of the Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio State and American Bar Associations and frequently serves as Relator's counsel in professional discipline cases, is Vice Chairman of the Ohio State Bar Association's Legal Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee and member ofthcir Committee to Review Ohio's Disciplinary Process, and serves as a member of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association's Certified Grievance Committee; and WHEREAS, Mr. Murman is also active in several professional organizations having served as President to the Cuyahoga County Law Directors Association, President -Elect of the Ohio Municipal Attorneys Association, Chairman of the Criminal Law Section for the Cleveland Bar Association, and as a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio's task force as well as serving as an expert witness in legal malpractice/professional ethics litigation and is a frequent presenter at seminars and workshops on professional ethics; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as Law Director, Michael Murman has been recognized as a conscientious, effective and respected legal advisor of and attorney and counsel for the City while attending the many regular, special and committee meetings of the Lakewood City Council, and has served on Lakewood Historical Society's Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, as Prosecutor, Mr. Murman was instrumental in the .establishment of a Mediation Program to assist citizens in resolving disputes out of court in a timely, cost efficient manner, and WHEREAS, Michael Munnan has completed sixteen years of outstanding public service to the City of Lakewood and such dedication to duty and years of public service should be recognized in a proper and fitting manner, now therefore, OHIO: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF Section 1. That this Mayor and Council emends to Michael E. Murman its appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this community for his sixteen years of dedicated public service to the City of Lakewood and further that we wish him continued years of health, happiness and prosperity in his new endeavors. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Michael E.
