REFERRED TO PUBLIC WORKS CMTE 1/16/96. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7114-96 BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works, on <br />behalf of the City, to accept and expend grant funds awarded by <br />the Ohio Department of Public Safety for the purpose of <br />conducting an inventory of all traffic control signs maintained <br />by the City. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor's Highway Safety <br />Representative has determined that the lack of an adequate <br />inventory of traffic control devices may be a contributing factor <br />in traffic accidents; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works - Division of <br />Traffic has been awarded a grant by the Ohio Department of Public <br />Safety to conduct an inventory of traffic control devices <br />maintained by the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said grant funds will be used to reimburse the <br />traffic signs and signals account for 100% of the personnel and <br />equipment costs of developing such an inventory, thus resulting <br />in no additional expenditure of City funds; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works, on behalf <br />of the City, be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter <br />into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Public Safety to <br />receive and administer grant funds for the purpose of conducting <br />an inventory of all traffic control devices maintained by the <br />City, as described in attached Exhibit A; said agreement to be in <br />a form substantially similar to that in attached Exhibit A, and <br />to contain such terms and conditions as deemed necessary by the <br />Director of Law to protect the public interest. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found .and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberation of the Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Approved= ~~/~ <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
