RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7146-96 <br /> <br />BY: Boscia, Corrigan, <br />Flannery, George, Roth, Seelie, <br /> Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to congratulate St. Edward High School for being <br />proclaimed a Blue Ribbon School for the 1994-95 and 1995-96 school years and a <br />"nationally recognized school of excellence" by the U.S. Department of Education; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this month, three St. Edward representatives will travel to <br />WaShington, D.C. to be with representatives from 265 other high schools in the nation <br />that won the blue ribbons for excellence in teaching, student achievement, parental <br />involvement and other areas; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St. Edward was one of only seven high schools in Ohio and <br />one of only fifty private schools in the nation to win the prestigious award this year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wishes to extend its expression of pride <br />in the accomplishments of St. Edward High School, as well as our appreciation for the <br />recognition they have brought to Northern Ohio by their selection as a Blue Ribbon <br />School; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY Of LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor, hereby extend to the St. <br />Edward High School its congratulations and that of all the citizens of the Lakewood <br />Community for their outstanding achievements. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Principal James P.
