Wintermyer for his public <br />service as Personnel Administrator for the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, George C. W/ntermyer was appointed Personnel <br />Administrator e~fective August 8, 1981, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure with the CRy of Lakewood he <br />established an Executive LaborfMana§ement Commitiee for service workers in the <br />Depart'taunt of Public lArorks, D/visions of Police and Fire and for Matron <br />Dispatchers, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by virtue of the exceptional foresight of Geo~e C. <br />Wintermyer as Personnel Admlnistratm. a successhtl employee educational assistance <br />pm~mm was developed, a microfl]mln~ division was established, an admlnlstrative <br />employee's handbook was published, and the City's Ar41rmative Action Pro,mn <br />advanced, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Wintermyer ably and with distinction served under <br />three mayors maintalnl-§ a reputation as a tou~yh ne~otlaix~r in labor matters, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Wintermyer's active participation and leadership <br />positions in such organizations as Mazters of Public Administration, Public Sector <br />Labor Relations Association, Public Administration Advisory Committe~, <br />Iniernational Personnel Management Association and the American Management <br />Association is evidence of his commitment and desire to render outstanding public <br />service, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. W'mtermyer's no-nonsense style, down-t~ <br />aI~'oach to problem solving, and lack of pretense earned him the respect of those <br />who served with him and those he served, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, George C_ IA~mtemyer resi~ed his posilion with the CRy <br />o~ Lakewood effective June 28, 1996, to accept various appointments and <br />en§a§ements with his lovely wife, Michiyo, his children and ~randchildren as well as <br />attendin§ imperative fishin§ events with friends; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor extend to George C. <br />W'miermyer appreciation and commendation for his more than 18 years of <br />disfin~ished public service to the City of Lakewood and huther wish him continued <br />ye,~s of health, happiness and prosperity. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and <br />direr-ted to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to George C. Wintermyer, <br />17445 Northwood, Lakewood, Ohio 44107 and that a copy of this Resolution be <br /> <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br /> <br />
