RESOLUTION NO. 7178-96 BY: Boscia, Corrigan, Flannery, George, Roth, Seelie, Smith A RESOLUTION to congratulate Lake Erie Screw on their 50th anniversary in the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, Lake Erie Screw was founded in 1946 by John Wasmer, Sr. and over the years the company grew and today finds itself at the top of the world's fastener manufacturers with 30 boltmakers in Lakewood and a new plant in Frankfort, Indiana; and WHEREAS, the high quality reputation that Lake Erie Screw enjoys is underscored by the fact that both plants and laboratories are highly accredited and registered; and WHEREAS, :Lake Erie Screw has served Lakewood well as a thriving part of the business community; and WHEREAS, the Lake Erie motto "Quality that Invites Comparison" that was developed in the 1970's, is today more than ever a truth and not a claim; and WHEREAS, throughout the,years, Lake Erie Screw has employed many Lakewood citizens and had a positive impact on the economy of the City; and WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should join in this expression of our pride and appreciation for the many civic and economic benefits that Lakewood has enjoyed over the years because of the growth and prosperity of Lake Erie Screw; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Mayor and Council extend to Lake Erie Screw their congratulations and that of all of the citizens of Lakewood on the occasion of their 50th Anniversary and best wishes for many years of continued success in the future. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Jerry Begue, President, Lake Erie Screw, 13001 Athens Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, 44107, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. , t PRESIDENT Approved,'/~,~ CLERK
