WHEREAS, Cuyahoga COunty is contemplating various organiza- <br />tional, policy and programmatic options related to housing, including <br />but not limited to, the creation of a non-profit Community Develop- <br />ment Corporation pursuant to Chapter 1726 of the Ohio Revised Code <br />and use of financing powers granted to county governments by 1991 <br />Ohio HB 339; the operation of the Cuyahoga Housing Consortium de- <br />scribed therein, may become if agreed to at a subsequent date by each <br />party to this agreement, an integral part of the broader countywide <br />housing effort; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood will be entitled to approx- <br />imately thirteen (13%) percent of the Consortium's annual allocation <br />of grant funds from the Federal Government by joining this C6nsorti- <br />um; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized <br />and directed to enter into an amended and restated contract with the <br />cities of Cleveland Heights, Euclid, Parma and the County of Cuyaho- <br />ga, Ohio, by which each party agrees to create the Cuyahoga Housing <br />Consortium for the purpose of making joint application for and admin- <br />istering federal funds available under the HOME Program, said funds <br />authorized by the Cranston-Gonzales National Affordable Housing Act <br />of 1990. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Law is hereby authorized <br />and directed to review any and all documents related to said Consort- <br />ium and to negotiate such changes to the documents as the Director <br />deems necessary to protect the public interest. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of <br />this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br />that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its commit- <br />tees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the <br />public in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4.
