t%csolu[lon iNo./ ~,-o-~o By: Corrigan, ~lannery, George, Rot:h, Seelie, Skin~ll, Smith A KESOLUTION to commend St. Edward High School Eagles Baseball Team tbr winning the Division I state baseball championship. -- WHERE;~S, the St. Edward Eagles displayed remarkable tenacity while marching towards their first ever state baseball championship, and WHEREAS, Coach Tom Callahan led a group of inspired young men to their first ever regional victories and beyond, en route to a 30-5 record and culmination in a 6-3 victory over Dublin Seioto, and WHEREAS, St. Edward's championship nm was sweetened by a regional semifinal victory over archfival St. Ignatius, and regional final victory over local foe, Shaker Heights, to complete a state title tfifecta, capturing wrestling, basketball, and baseball crowns, and Wl-IEREAS, this unprecedented nan of success was keyed by shortstop/pitcher, Chris Schmidt, who hurled the final game victory, while amassing several individual awards for his play in the field, on the mound and at the bat, and WHEREAS, Lakewood City Council wishes to extend special commendation and recognition to the entire St. Edward Eagles Baseball Team as well as our appreciation tbr the recognition they have brought to our community by their sponsmamhip and outstanding accomplishments this school year; now, therefore, OHIO: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CiTY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF Section 1. On behalf of the residents of Lakewood, the Mayor and this Council extend to the Lakewood St. Edward High School Easles Baseball Team congratulations tbr winning the Division I state baseball championship. Adopted: Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certffied copy of this Resolution to the Lakewood St. Edward High School Eagles Baseball Team, cdc Coach Tom Callahan, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
