RESOLUTION NO. 7350-98 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Flanner¥, George, Roth, <br /> Seelie, Skinde11, Smith <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring St. James Catholic Church on its 90th <br />anniversary. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, St James Catholic Church offered its first Mass to Catholic <br />families 90 years ago in what was then Lakewood Village, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, from its humble beginnings in an empty storeroom at 15607 <br />Detroit Avenue to its magnificent and beautiful structure today at 17514 Detroit Avenue, <br />St. James Parish has offered many Lakewood citizens a cherished atmosphere in <br />which to experience all aspects of life's events, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the guiding principles of St. James Parish such as concern <br />for others, commitment to the common good, and compassion for all flows out to the <br />greater community, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, today St. James Church provides a wide variety of <br />community outreach programs among which include day care services, youth activities, <br />adult education, counseling services, and community meals, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that St. James Church be honored <br />on its 90th anniversary for both reflecting and helping to shape the fabric of our <br />inspired City; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That St. James Church be honored by a formal Resolution in <br />order to give public cognizance and recognition to its 90 year history as an institution <br />providing faith and hope to its parishioners. <br /> <br /> Section 2. ~ the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to, St. James Church, 17514 <br />Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, 44107, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread <br />upon the minutes of this rr~eting. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />CLERK / <br /> <br /> <br />
