RESOLUTION NO. 7460-00 BY: Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith. A RESOLUTION to acknowledge the contributions of Thomas Rados and the Lakewood Winterhurst Ice Rink staff to the spectacular success of the 2000 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. WHEREAS, over the years of preparation for achieving a world class ice skating rink Tom Rados has exercised his skill on decisions great and small from dasher boards and ice resurfacing machines to energy conservation and environmental improvements showing meticulous attention to details as well as demonstrating an incredible sense of foresight and vision, and WHEREAS, Tom Rados performed a financial quadruple jump, rescuing the rink from a sea of red ink, establishing it as an operation marked by smooth sailing, and WHEREAS, Winterhurst Ice Rink has glistened like a sparkling snowflake in the spotlight of national skating competition, and WHEREAS, Tom Rados handled this task with icy resolve but always dealt with his co-workers with warmth and understanding, and WHEREAS, the extraordinary efforts made by Tom Rados, with the support of his able staff; Tim Stark, Zachary Gray, Patrick Slife, Bill Needham and the many hard-working part-time employees who make up the winning team of Winterhurst deserve public cognizance and due recognition; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and Mayor recognize the outstanding contribution Tom Rados and his staff have made and continue to make in the promotion of the City of Lakewood by their dedicated and exemplary work at Winterhurst Ice Rink and especially their tremendous effort during the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Thomas Rados and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
