Deferred 4/17/00. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7475-00 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, FitzGeralG, <br />Seelie, gkindell, Smith. <br /> <br />George,Roth <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending Lakewood Police Department Lieutenant Ronald <br />,[on Weidig for his public service in the City of Lakewood. Upon his retirement effective March <br />31, 2000, Investigator Ronaid Jon Weidi~ completed over 26 years of public service in the <br />Division of Police; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his career with the Lakewood Division of Police Lieutenant <br />Ronald Jori Weidig was elected chairman of the FOP#25 Negotiating Team, served as a Patrol <br />Investigator, assigned to the Westshore Enforcement Bureau as a Hostage Negotiator, <br />Plainelothes Investigator, Jail Training Administrator, Firearms Instructor and Armorer, was <br />instrumental in developing and operating the police property room, updating departmental <br />procedures manual, and played a significant role in bringing on line the Computer-aided Medical <br />Dispatch System; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Lakewood Division of Police Lieutenant <br />Ronaid Jon Weidig was recognized as a loyal and dedicated employee who rendered outstanding <br />service to the Division of Police and to the entire eornmunity. Received several commendations <br />for his investigative efforts, including an off-duty auto theft arrest, which resulted in solving a <br />double homicide in Cleveland, Ohio. The performance of his duties and responsibilities, and his <br />working relationships were always characterized by an obvious dedication to getting the job well <br />done; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Lieutanant Ronald ~on Weidig's dedicated interest and devotion to <br />law enforcement has had a valuable effect of efficiency and morale in this City and we wish to <br />extend to him our sincere appreciation for his outstanding performance of duty, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the dedicated public service rendered by <br />Lieutenant Ronald Jori Weidig be given public cognizance and recognition. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br /> STATE OF OH/O: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to Lieutenant Ronaid Jon <br />Weidig its appreciation and that of ail of the citizens of this community for his 26 years of public <br />service for the City of Lakewood and further that this Council and Mayor wish him continued <br />years of health, happiness and prosperity in his retirement. <br /> Section 2.
