RESOLUTION NO. 7553-01 By: Corrigan, George, Roth, <br /> Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br />Seelie, <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to recognize Donald Vassel for his leadership and commitment to the <br />people of Lakewood as founding president of the Lakewood Neighbors. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Don Vassel provided the inspiration and energy to move the organization <br />forward in its formative years. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Don Vassel has worked together with the Lakewood Neighbors and has <br />actively promoted and typified the mission of the organization by working to improve the quality <br />of life in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Don Vassel and the Lakewood Neighbors have followed their mission of <br />neighborhood cooperation, respect, tolerance, and understanding by providing citizen forums, <br />community-based volunteer opportunities, educational presentations and grassroots government <br />involvement. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Don as a long-time resident of Lakewood, was the City of Lakewood Grand <br />Marshall for the July 4th, 2000 parade. <br /> <br /> WHERAS, it is fitting and proper that. the public service rendered by Don Vassel be <br />given public recognition; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO; <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to Don Vassel their <br />appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for his years of public service and <br />further that this Council and Mayor wish him continued years of health and happiness. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Don Vassel, and that a copy of this Resolution be <br />spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> <br />
