RESOLU//ON: 7570-01 <br /> <br /> BY: corrigan, FitzGerald, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to honor the Lakcwood Kiwanis for their long-standing <br />commitment to the people and programs of Lakewood and to recognize their participation in the <br />4~ of July Parade as Grand Marshals. <br /> WHEREAS, Mayor Madeline A. Cain and the 2001 City of Lakewood Parade <br />committee chose the Lakewood Kiwanis Club as 2001 Grand Marshals; and, - <br /> WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Lakewood is celebrating the 80t~ anniversary of <br />their commitment to serve the City of Lakewood; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Lakewood has over 30 committees working to <br /> provide support and service hours to benefit the community of Lakewood, including Young <br /> Children/Priority One Committee, Youth Committee and Community Services Committee, and <br /> most recently provided funding support for the Lakewood Start-A-Heart Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of Lakewood established a Scholarship <br /> Foundation in 1954 and to date has awarded 179 scholarships to Lakewood students worth <br /> approximately $810,000.00; now therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to the Lakewood Kiwanis <br /> Club its appreciation and that of all of the citizens of this community' for their dedicated service <br /> to the Lakewood Community. <br /> <br /> Section 2.
