RESOLUTION NO: 7596-01 <br /> <br />BY:Corrigan, FitzGerald, George, <br /> Roth, Seelfe, Skindell, Smith. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to thank the Lakewood Junior Women's Club for their <br />generosity and service to the Lakewood community and to thank Judy Leatherman and Shannan <br />Strachan for their direction and dedication as project co-chairs for the "Sitting Pretty" project. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The "Sitting Pretty" campaign involved the design, decoration and <br />placement of thirty-three park benches throughout the city for two and a half months during the <br />summer of 2001. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Artists from Lakewood and other west side suburbs were recruited <br />to paint and beautify the benches. The embellished park benches were then displayed at various <br />sites throughout the city from June 18 until the end of August. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The decorated benches were auctioned from the Clifton Club on <br />August 25t~ and of the proceeds from the evem, $8,000 has been presented to the "Keep <br />Lakewood Beautiful" program. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Lakewood Junior Women's Club has the appreciation of ail the <br />citizens of Lakewood for their philanthropic efforts and services which benefit the community of <br />Lakewood. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to Lakewood Junior <br />Women's Club the appreciation of the citizens of this community for their dedicated service to <br />the Lakewood Community. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed <br />to forward a certified copy of this' Resolution to the Lakewood Junior Women's Club e/o Judy <br />Leatherman and Shannan Strachan, "Sitting Pretty"'campaigu co-chairs and that a copy of this <br />Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br />MAY~ <br /> <br /> <br />
