RESOLUTION: 7607-01 BY: Corrigam, FitzGerald, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell, <br /> Smith. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to honor the Lakewood High School Boys' Cross Country Team for <br />their outstanding performance during the 2001 Cross Country Season. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the LHS Boys' Cross Country program has received statewide recognition <br />as the number one cross country team in Ohio, based on State Meet finishes, since 1928; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this year's Boys' Cross Country Team continued this tradition of excellence <br />by winning the OHSAA District and Regional meets and qualifying for the State Meet in <br />Columbus on November 3~; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, swift-of-feet Rangers Ricky Weisheimer, Aaron Johnston-Peck, Ted <br />Summers, Mike Vucetic, Jason King, Dan Eifel, and Justin Mecson ran with conviction and <br />courage to the finish line; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the ninth place finish by the Boys' Cross Country Team was remarkable <br />against Ohio's top teams for a team that was unranked during the entire season. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the overall finish by Ranger Ri.eky Weisheimer Il5* place in 15:52) earned <br />him recognition on the awards podium at Scioto Downs as an All,Ohio runner; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by their outstanding athletic accomplishmems and good sportsmanship, <br />together with the expert guidance of their dedicated coaches, Rick Ventnra and David Shaw, <br />the Lakewood High School Boys' Cross Country Team has brought position, recognition, and <br />honor, not only to themselves, but to our entire community, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to the Lakewood High <br />School Boys' Cross Country Team this expression of our pride in your accomplishments, and our <br />appreciation for the fmc publicity you have brought to our community <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed <br />to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Lakewood High School Boys' Cross Country <br />Team, e/o Coach Rick Ventura at Lakewood High School, 14100 Franklin Boulevard, <br />Lakewood, Ohio 44107 and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the <br /> <br />Adopted: /~'~/a., /~!
