RESOLUTION: 7617~02 BY: Corrigan, Dunn~ FitzGerald, George, .Roth, Seelie, Skindell. A RESOLUTION to honor Lakewood resident Adam Riedy for his outstanding dedication and sportsmanship as he assists with the training of the six member Men's Short Track Speed Skating Team as they train in Salt Lake City for the 2002 U.S. Olympics. WHEREAS, Adam Riedy was a bronze medalist in the 1,000 meters at the 2000 World Cup and in Junior Short Track competition, he was third overall in 2000 and second overall in 1999; and, WHEREAS, Adam Riedy is a striking example of a young athlete who demonstrates, in addition to a great deal of natural ability, an outstanding spirit of dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work; and, WHEREAS, Adam Riedy is an inspiration for all skaters and athletes in this community and throughout the country and at this time we would like to extend to him this token of the affection and admiration with which he is regarded in this community. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to Adam Riedy our expression of pride in your accomplishments, and admiration for your excellent competitive spirit. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Adam Riedy c/o his coach in Salt Lake City and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal' actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such. fOrmal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
