RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7639-02 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, <br />Roth, Seelie, Sktndell. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to honor LakewOod High School senior, Matt Fannln; for his record <br />breaking achievements on the Rangers basketball team. <br /> <br /> WItEREAS, Matt Fannln has completed his Lakewood High School basketball career <br />with a record 1,097 points, surpassing the record of 1,041 set 33 year~ ago by Ron Andregg; and <br /> <br /> v~r[IEREAS, Matt Fsnnin set a new school record with 846 rebounds during his <br />Lakewood High School career, which was 631 set 32 years agoby Brian Scanlon; and <br /> <br /> Wl~REAS, Matt Fannin is the first person in the School's history to hold both the <br />scoring and rebound records; and <br /> <br /> WI-IEREAS, as a result of these record breaking achievements, Matt Fannin helped lead <br />the Lakewood High School basketball team to a 19-4 team record against top area-wide <br />competition; and <br /> <br />the Year and the All Northeast Lakes District Player of the Year; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Matt displayed his leadership qualities serving as team captain through his <br />junior and senior years: and <br /> <br /> WIiEREAS, Matt Fannln has earned the respect of his fellow teammates and the <br />community through his ~hinlng example of hard work, dedication and leadership both on and off <br />the basketball court; and <br /> <br /> VVItEREAS, upon his graduation, Matt will go .on to play basketb.a~, for the .U.S.N. ayal <br />Academy aRer maintaining at least a 3.7 ~}ra.d~. point average and being nominated by <br />Congressman Dennis Kuc'_mich. He w..as recruited by the U.S.Airforee Academy and the U.S. <br />Military Academy at West Point as well <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY TH~ CITY OF LAKEWOOD. STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Set, on 1. That Lakewood City Council hereby applauds the hard work and <br />achievements of Lakcwood High School senior Matt Fannin. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an ope.n meet~g .of this ,Co~unci~ <br />and that all such deliberation of Council and of any of its co. mmittees tlmt ~sulted in sucn xormat <br />action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal reqmrements. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
