ADD ON <br /> <br />RESOLU~ONNO.: 7643-02 BY:Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, <br /> Roth, Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to acknowledge; Oenni Kennedy, Physical Education Teacher of <br />Harrison Elementary School, and co-chair of the "Jump Rope for the Heart" program, and Becky <br />Conron, Physical Education Teacher of Lincoln Elementary School, and co-chair of the "Jump <br />Rope for the Heart" program, and Michelle Leits, Physical Education Teacher of Garfield <br />Elementary School, and Leslie Tighe, Physical Educati°n Teacher of Hayes Elementary School, <br />and all the students and parents involved in the program for their efforts to inform and educate <br />our community concerning heart disease. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The American Heart Association-has sponsored a "Jump Rope for the <br />Heart" event for fourth and fifda grade students in the Lakewood Elementary Schools; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The students from Harrison, Hayes, Lincoln and Garfield Elementary <br />Schools participated in this community-wide event in order to focus public attention on the <br />oppommities available to protect ourselves against the ravages of heart disease; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Heart attacks and strokes kill and cripple more people each year than all <br />other causes combined; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, It is now possible m reduce 'this terrible toll dramatically through proper <br />diet, exercise and medical care. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO; <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and the Mayor urge all our residents to congratulate these <br />teachers and students for their efforts in promoting good health in our community. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this <br />resolution to Ms. Germi Kennedy, Harrison Elementary School, 2080 Quail Avenue, Lakewood, <br />OH 44107 and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> PRESIDENT <br /> <br />[ ~ '~a MAYOR f ~' ' <br /> <br /> <br />
