RESOLUTION NO. 7698-02 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br />George, Roth, Seelie, Skindell. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to acknowledge the 15t~ Anniversary of the Lakewood <br />Community Festival a truly unique annual Lakewood event that celebrates community <br />and family. <br /> <br />and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, In 1988 the first Lakewood Community Festival was held, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This wonderful city tradition has continued for 15 years with <br />thousands of people coming together to enjoy food, entertainment and fund at this <br />annual event, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Lakewood Community Festival each year pays special <br />tribute to the Eastern European immigrants who settled the Lakewood neighborhood at <br />the eastern end of Lakewood, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Lakewood Community Festival promotes Lakewood's <br />diverse and cultural heritage. Now therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby extend to Lakewood <br />Community Festival its appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for <br />their exceptional community spirit and dedication to the Lakewood community. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward <br />this Resolution to the Lakewood Commu nity Festival c/o Helen Poherence and that a <br />copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> PRI~SIDENT <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
