RESOLUTIONNO. 7711-02 BY: corrigan, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie, Skfndell. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to honor the Lakewood High School Boys' Cross CounU'y team for <br />their outstanding performance during the 2002 Cross Country season. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, tim LHS Boys' Cross Coun~ program has received statewide reCognition <br />as the number one Cross Country team in Ohio, based on State Meet finL~hes, since 1928; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the LHS Boys Cross Country team continued, this wadition of excellence by <br />winning the Lake Erie League, OHSAA District, and OHSAA Regional meets to q, mlify for the <br />State Meet in Columbus for the fifth time in the para seven seasons; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the State Meet on October 26~', the Boys' Cross Country team fint~hed <br />with a strong fourth in a field of the sixteen best Boys' Cross Counlxy teams in the state; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, swift-of-feet Rangers Dan Eifel, Sason King, Justin Meeson, Aaron <br />Johnston-Peck, Todd Shaw, Ted Summers and Ricky Weisheimer ran with conviction and <br />6ourage to the finish line; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the overall finish by Ranger Aaron Johnston-Peck (19~' place in 16:05) <br />earned him recognition as an All-Ohio runner; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Aaron Johnston-Peck, Justin Meeson and Dan Eifel earned recognition as <br />"Academic All-Ohio" runners from the Ohio Association of Track and Cross-Counlxy Coaches; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by their outstanding athletic accomplishments and good sportsmanship, <br />together with the expert guidance of their dedicated coaches, Rick Ventura, Mike Strauss and <br />David Shaw, the Lakewood High School Boys' Cross Country Team has brought position, <br />recognition and honor, not only to themselves, but to the entire Lakewood Community, now, <br />therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That we honor the Lakewood High School Boys' Cross Country team for their <br />outstanding achievement during the 2002 Cross-Country season. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a certified copy of this resolution to Coach Rick Ventur~ Lakewood High School, <br />14100 Franklin Blvd., Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon <br />the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Approved: /~~ <br /> l <br /> <br />President <br />Mayor ./ <br /> <br /> <br />
