RESOLUTION NO. 7735-03 BY: Corrigan, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie . A RESOLUTION endorsing the Lakewood Public Library's proposed 1.25 mill operating levy and estimated 1.25 mill bond issue. WHEREAS The Lakewood Public Library is one of Lakew°od's vital community institutions, and WHEREAS Lakewood citizens have expressed their approval of our library by their record setting patronage of Lakewood Library resources, and WHEREAS, the Lakewood Public Library,.has, through citizen input, developed a plan to maintain and expand its facilities for the 21st century, and WHEREAS the Main Library property has not been significantly expanded since 1953, and WHEREAS the Lakewood Public Library plays an integral role in the educational, cultural and economic life of this community, and WHEREAS the Lakewood Public Library has a record of responsible financial management, and WHEREAS recent state budget cuts have necessitated additional local support to preserve local public libraries, with more budget cuts likely in the future, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Members of Lakewood City Council enthusiastically endorse the Lakewood Public Library's proposed 1.25 mill operating levy and estimated 1.25 mill bond issue. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the Lakewood Public Library and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberation of Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
