RESOLUTION NO, BY: <br /> 7739-03 <br /> <br />Corrigan, Dever, Dunn, <br /> <br />FitzGerald, George, Roth, <br /> Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring Firefighters Milan Tanasijevic and Robert Dean <br />for their courage in helping two young children to safety during a fire at 2040 Lewis <br />Drive, Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fireflghter Milan Tanasijevic as Acting Captain on the Hook & <br />Ladder Company and Firefighter Robert Dean were part of the fire response team on <br />the morning of February 17, 2003, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Firefighters arrived at the scene of the working fire and learned <br />of two children who were trapped on the fire floor, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Firefighter Milan Tanasijevic immediately initiated search and <br />rescue procedures, along with Firefighter Robert Dean without the benefit of a <br />protective hose line, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Fireflghter Milan Tanasijevic and Firefighter Robert Dean were <br />successful in locating two children, ages 5 months and 19 months huddled in the room <br />of origin and carried them to safety, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Fireflghters actions were instrumental in preventing serious <br /> injury to the children and exemplify the highest standards of the Lakewood Division of <br /> Fire. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor commend Firefighters Milan <br /> Tanasijevic and Robert Dean for their actions during a fire at 2040 Lewis Drive, which <br /> resulted in the prevention of serious injury to two young children. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to forward a coPY this Resolution to Firefighters Milan Tanasijevic and Robert <br /> Dean at their residences and that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes <br /> of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br /> Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted, in an <br /> open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any <br /> of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public <br /> in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: _~~ ~;~d3 <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> <br />
