RESOLUTION: 7 7 5 2 -0 3 <br /> <br />BY: Corrigan, Dever, Dunn,' 21::. <br /> F~tzGerald, George, Roth, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Bill and Adele Malley and Malley's Chocolates for <br />their contribution to the Lakewood Community. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mallefs Chocolates bega~ in a storefront on Lewis & Madison in <br />Lakewood, Ohio in 1935 by Michael Marley who took great pride in keeping the <br />customers satisfied and entertained, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1949 Malley's Chocolates relocated their Chocolate, Candy and Ice <br />Cream Parlor to 14822 Madison Avenue where said facility has been expanded in 1994 to <br />include the adjacent building, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Malley's has been and continues to be a Lakewood institution <br />recognized by current residents, past residents and future residents as that Special Place to <br />celebrate Bithdays, Graduations, or special events that makes the City of Lakewood a <br />great place to call Home, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through the guidance and leadership of the Malley Family, and <br />specifically William Sr. and Adele, Mailers Chocolates has, and continues to be a <br />nationally recognized leader in the Candy and Chocolate Industry having grown their <br />business to 14 locations in and around The Greater Lakewood area, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as its Founding Father, Michael Malley, along with William Malley <br />Sr. and Adele Malley, through their stewardship and Community Involvement have <br />successfully' guided their family business through the 20th Century, be it known that the <br />Malley Children through the examples and practices set forth by their grandparents and <br />parents before them, will continue to lead the business well into the 21st Century with the <br />excitement and fresh ideas that have been the cornerstone of Malley's Chocolates, and <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this City Council and Mayor of Lakewood hereby extend to <br />William Sr., & Adele Malley and Malley's Chocolates commendation for positively <br />contributing to the Lakewood business community and the quality of life of all who have <br />satisfied their sweet tooth over these past 68 years. <br /> <br /> SectiOn 2.
