RESOLUTION NO. 7773-03 <br /> <br />Corrigan, Dever, Dunn, George, <br />Roth, 'Seelie. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLU'F~ON authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood <br />to enter into an inter-agency agreement to accept and expend funds in the amount of <br />$243,000.00 for Lakewood Park entrance improvements with the Greater Cleveland Regional <br />Transit Authority. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority wishes to contribute <br />$243,000.00 for the improvements to the entrance at Lakewood Park; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood, in exchange for the contribution, wishes to construct a <br />new bus loop and bus shelter at Lakewood Park; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and the City of Lakewood <br />would like to enhance safety and provide better service to transit passengers at the bus loop <br />and Lakewood Park; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall take <br />effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE IIT, SEC'TONS 10 and 13 of the <br />SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE C~Y OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the <br />immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual <br />daily operation of munidpal departments in that the position Of Director of Public Works is <br />currently vacant. Now Therefore, <br /> <br /> BE ~T RESOLVED BY THE C~-I'Y OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City is hereby authorized to enter into <br />an inter-agency agreement to accept and expend funds in the amount of $243,000.00 for <br />Lakewood Park entrance improvements with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, a <br />copy of which is on file in the Law Department. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were passed in an open meeting of <br />this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in <br />such actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 31 That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and <br />welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set forth and <br />defined in the preamble to this ordinance, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of at <br />least five (5) of its members elected to Council, this resolution shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor otherwise, it shall take <br />effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Approved.~ z// <br /> <br />President of Council <br />Mayor / <br /> <br /> <br />
