RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />7774-03 <br /> <br />Corrisan~Deve~: Dunn, ~'~'-I~'~'''''~ <br />George, Roth,~Seelie. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to accept, on behalf <br />of the City of Lakewood, two bullet proof vests for the Lakewood K-9 units from <br />North Coast Humane sodety valued at over $2,000. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Coast Human Society has developed a program to <br />assist communities with K-9 officers in their Police Departments in obtaining armor <br />for the K-9 units; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, North Coast Human Society has offered two vests to the <br />City of Lakewood at no cost to the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members elected <br />thereto determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this <br />resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in AR'FJCLE III, <br />SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE C~TY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservaUon of the public <br />property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operaUon of <br />munidpal departments in that Northeastern Ohio has already realized below <br />average rainfall this spring. Now, therefore,. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the 'Mayor is hereby authorized to accept, on behalf of <br />the City of Lakewood, two bullet proof vests for the Lakewood K-9 units from <br />NOrth Coast Humane Society valued at over $2,000. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Coundl, and that all such deliberations of this Coundl and <br />of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were in meetings <br />open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City <br />for the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this resolution, and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members elected <br />to Coundl, this resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br />adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor otherwise, it shall take effect <br />and be in force alter the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />President <br />Mayor / -- <br /> <br /> <br />
