RESOLUTION NO, 7784-03 <br /> <br />BY:corrigan, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br /> George, Roth, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to honor Melissa Ferguson for her participation in the <br />2003 Summer Special Olympics World Games and to acknowledge her <br />accomplishments. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Melissa Ferguson was one of over one hundred skaters <br />representing 15 countries in the speed roller skating events held in Belfast, Ireland; <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Melissa Ferguson earned a Silver Medal for placing second in the 4 <br />x 100 meter race; a Bronze Medal for placing third in the 2 x 200 meter race and a sixth <br />place ribbon for the 100 meter race; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Melissa Ferguson exemplifies the spirit of good sportsmanship, <br />dedication and commitment and serves as an example to all athletes; now therefore; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor wish to congratulate Melissa <br />Ferguson on her accomplishments and wish her well on future endeavors. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a copy this Resolution to Melissa Ferguson and that a copy of this Resolution <br />be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open <br />meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in <br />compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved:~ <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br /> <br />
