RESOLUTION NO, 7807-03 <br /> <br />~eorge, Roth, Seelie. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Chief of <br />Police, on behalf of the City, to accept an expend grant funds from the Bureau of <br />Justice Assistance for the purpose of installing digital video recording equipment in the <br />Lakewood Police Departments marked cruisers through the Local Law Enforcement <br />Block Grant Award. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Award is allocated Lo <br />units of local government to underwrite projects to reduce crime and improve public <br />safety; and <br /> <br /> HEREAS, the Department of Public Safety, Division of Police, will receive <br />$18, 188 to instatl Tn-car videos to achieve those ends, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (S) members elected <br />thereto determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this <br />ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, <br />SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public <br />property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal <br />departments in that this resolution is necessary to enter into the grant agreement in a <br />timely manner. Now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Chief of Police, on behalf of the City, be and is <br />hereby authorized and directed to accept an award from the Bureau of Justice <br />Assistance in the amount of $18, 188 for the purchase of an In-Car Video system <br />through the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Award. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an <br />open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberation of the Council and any of <br />committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public and <br />in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, s~fety and welfare in the City and for t~e usual daily operation of the City for <br />the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this ordinance, and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members elected to Council, this <br />ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption by the Council <br /> <br /> <br />
