RESOLUTION NO. 7813-03A <br /> <br />BY: C~or~igan, Damro, Dever, Dunn, <br /> FitzGerald, Maidgan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION amending Resolution No. 7813-03 for the purpose <br />of increasing the authority of the Director of the Department of Human Services, on <br />behalf of the City, to enter into an Ag~eemeet with the Cuyahoga County Board of <br />Health to accept and expend funds for the support of a public health nurse position in <br />the amount of $22,845. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Government ~et aside funding to address state and local <br />public health infrastructure deficiencies when responding to public health emergencies; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Health issued a Request for Proposals with <br />the requirement that all health jurisdictions in each county submit a single joint <br />proposal; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, representatives of the four local health jurisdictions in Cuyahoga <br />County (Cleveland, Shaker Heights, Lakewood and Cuyahoga County Board of Health) <br />convened the Cuyahoga County Public Health Collaborative and submitted a public <br />health infrastructure proposal that was approved for funding for program year <br />September 1, 2003 through August 31, 2004; and <br /> <br /> , WHEREAS, Lakewood's award has been increased from $i3,900 for providing the <br />services of a public health nurse 10 hours per week to serve as the Ohio Disease <br />Reporting System (ODRS)/Communicable Disease Surveillance and Mass care planning <br />liaison and Regional Epidemiology Response Team member to include an additional <br />$8,945 to fund computer equipment upgrades, cell phone and pager services, and <br />training; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Coundl by a vote of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and that this resolution shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTiCLE III, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessa~ for the immediate preservation of the public property, health and safety, and <br />to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that the project <br />year begins September 1, 2003. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE 1-1' RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Resolution No. 7813-03, adopted September 15, 2003, <br />currently reading as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of the Depar~nent of Human <br /> Services, on behalf of the City, to enter into an Agreement with the <br /> Cuyahoga County B6ard of Health to accept and expend funds for the <br /> support of a public heaith nurse position in the amount of $13,900,00. <br /> <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1.
