<br />A RESOLUTION to concur with the lakewood Planning Commission in the adoption of the Master Plan
<br />for Lakewood Park, as amended November 26, 2001, revised January 2, 2002, and amended May 4, 2004.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, ARTICLE XII, SECTION 3, Powers and Düties of the Planning Commission, of the SECOND
<br />AMENDED CHARTER OF THE OTY OF LAKEWOOD states that it shall be the function and duty of the Planning
<br />Commission to make and adopt a general plan for the development and improvement of the City, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, ARTICLE XI1, SECT10N 3 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE OTY OF
<br />LAKEWOOD further states that the Commission shall also make plans and proposals for specific improvements and
<br />projects which it deems desirable for the City, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, in July 1993 the Lakewood Community Vision was accepted as the General Plan for the
<br />City of Lakewood, and
<br />
<br />~HEREAS, the Lakewood Community Vision Physical Environment Strategy Working Group
<br />recommended that the Parks and Recreation Plan for the City should be updated to include improvements to
<br />Lakewood Park, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, recognizing the growing need for rehabilitation and reconstruction of Lakewood Park's
<br />basic infrastructure, in May 2000 the Administration, with Council concurrence, retained the consulting firm of
<br />Brandstetter Carroll Zofcin, Inc. to update the City's Parks and Recreation Plan and to develop a Master Plan for
<br />Lakewood Park, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS; in January 2001 the draft proposed Master Plan for Lakewood Park prepared by the
<br />consultant was referred by City Council to the Planning Commission for review and recommendation, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, on January 2, 2002 a public hearing was conducted at which time the Planning
<br />Commission took final action to incorporate revisions in the adopted November 26, 2001 amended Master Plan for
<br />Lakewood Park; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, on May 4, 2004, a public hearing was conducted at which time the Planning Commission
<br />took final action to incorporate revisions in the adopted November 26, 2001 and revised January 2, 2002 Master Plan
<br />for Lakewood Park. A copy of said document dated May 17, 2004 is on file in the Council Clerk's office. Now
<br />therefore,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE OTY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHlO
<br />
<br />Section 1. That City Council concurs with the Planning Commission in the adoption of the Master
<br />Plan for Lakewood Park, as amended November 26, 2001, revised January 2, 2002, and amended May 4, 2004 as it is
<br />consistent with the Community Vision and will serve as the next step toward the improvement and beautification of
<br />this important Lakewood community asset.
<br />
<br />Section 2, It is found and determined that aU formal actions of this Council concerning and
<br />relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this CoUncil, and that all such
<br />deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to
<br />the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
