RESOLUTION NO 783~-04 <br /> <br />~Y:Corrigan, Demro, Dever, <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION requesRng.that the Mayor remove the flagpole that was <br />installed in front of City Hall last Jtme and place it in front of any municipal <br />fadlity or park as deemed fit by the Mayor <br /> <br /> WHEREAS., members of City Cotmcil are obligated to protec~ the City from <br />lega!liability arising from actions taken by city administrators that are not in the <br />public interest. <br /> <br /> W74EREAS, the installation of a flagpole for the purpose of allowing <br />co~m-ntmity groups to fly flags that represent their particular interest raises <br />signlflc~mt concerns regarding dvil rights and municipal priorities. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this action is determined to be poor public policy and contrary <br />to the public interest. <br /> <br /> BE 1T RESOLVED BY TIlE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section.1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to remove the flagpole in front of City <br />Hall that was installed last June. <br /> <br />Section 2. The flagpole will be installed at the refuse plant located at 12920 Berea <br />Road and the American flag will be the only flag flown from said pole. <br /> <br />Section 3.
