RESOLUTION NO: 7853-04 <br /> <br />Alq EIvlERGENCY P, ES OLUTION encouraging the voters of Lakewood to support the <br />Cuyahoga CoUnty Health mad Human Services levy on the March 2, 2004 primary ballot .. <br /> <br />WI-IEREAS, on Decembe~ 16, 2003, the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners adopted a <br />resolution declaring the necessity of submitting to the electors 6f the Comaty the question of a <br />renewal levy of three (3 0) mills to supplement general fund appropriations for health and human <br />or social services, for a period of three 0) years, outside the ten mill limitation, in accordance <br />with the provislans of Section 5705~i91 of the Ohio Revised Code at the primary election to the <br />held in the County on March 2, 2004, a copy of which resolution was certified to the County <br />Auditor; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County Auditor has advised and has certified that the total current tax <br />valuation of the County is $30,305,031,529 and that the three (3.0) mill renewal levy will <br />generate $57,2~4,$97 ~>f revenue in its first year of coliection. Now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE 1T RESOLVED BY TIIE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. This Council hereby determines to support the Cuyahoga County <br />Department of Health and Human Services in submitt~g to the electors of the County the <br />question cf a renewal levy of three 0.0) mills to supplement general fired appropriations for <br />health and human or social services, for a period of three 0) years, outside the ten mill limitation, <br />in aecordanen with the provisions of Section 5705.191 of the Ohio Revised Code; such renewal <br />levy to constitute a t~x levy of (3:0) mills for each one dollar of valuation, which mounts to <br />thirty cents ($0.30) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, to be in effect for a p~iod of three <br />O) years, to be levied on the 2004, 2005 mad 2006 mx duplicates, and to be submitted to the <br />electors of the County at the primary election to be held in the County on March 2, 2004 <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The Clerk of Counell be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a <br />certified copy of this resolution to the Cuyahoga County Commissioners; 1219 Ontario, <br />Cleveland, Ohio 44113, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />SECTION 3 It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and <br />retat~g to the passage of this resolution w~e adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and <br />that all such deI~eratlons ~f this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal <br />action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. That this resolution is hereby declared to be aa emergency measure necessary for <br />the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare in the City <br />and for the usual da~ly;gper~tion of the City for the reasons set f~th and def'med in the preamble <br />to this resolution, and ptovid~d it receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members <br />elected to Counc~, this resofurion shall ~ effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />by the Coun¢li and a~provaI by the Mayor-otherwise, it shall be in force after the earliest period <br />allowed by law <br /> <br /> v - Prgsident <br /> ' Mayor ~/ <br /> <br /> <br />
