RESOLUTION NO 7854-04 BY' Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn, FitzGerald, <br /> <br /> A RESOLLrTfON to commend Nancy J. Roth for her public service as <br />Councilmember, Ward 4 of the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Nancy J Roth was appointed to the office of <br />Conncilmember of the City of Lakewood, January 2, 1990; she Was elected shortly <br />thereafter in 1992, re-elected in 1996 and again in 2000' serving in that capacity untl <br />December 31, 2003, choosing not to run for the 2004 term, and <br /> <br /> WHEY~AS, the tenure of Nancy J. Roth is marked with ability and <br />distinction having twice been elected by her peers to serve as Vice President of <br />Councli, and <br /> <br /> WHE~, Ms. Roth addressed complex issues early in her career as <br />chair of the Housing Committee, later she chaired the influential and demanding <br />Public Works Committee, and was an active, outspoken member of the various <br />commi~ees and task forces especialiy recognized for her steadfast review of the City's <br />Budget, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Nancy J. Roth hex/er sln/ed away from an issue even when <br />special interest forces lined up against her and engaged in personal attacks and other <br />presstzre tactics to attempt to intimidate or influence her, she held her ground, <br />sometimes losing, sometimes winrdng but never wavering, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during her 14 year tenure as Councflmember, Nmacy J <br />Roth was recognized as a conscientious, effective and respected legislator, working <br />diligently and extensively for the promotion, progress and betterment of the City of <br />Lakewood and all of its residents, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the outstanding pubhc service <br />rendered by Nancy J Roth, as a Lakewood Coundlmember be given public <br />cognizance; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF ALKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br /> Section 1. That tl-ds Council and the Mayor extend their appreciation <br />and that of all of the citizens of this community to Nancy J Roth for her 14 years of <br />distinguished public service as a Counclimember of Ward 4 of the City of Lakewood <br />and further that this Council wishes her continued years of success, health, happiness <br />and prosperity in the days and years ahead. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Cotmcil be and is hereby authorized end <br />directed to forward a certified copy of th/s Resolution to Nancy J.
