RESOLUTION NO. -Z85__~04 BY: Corrigan, Demro, Darer, Durm, <br /> FitzGerald, ~sdigan,Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION commending the actions of Division of Fire personnel who responded <br />to a cardiac arrest on Janumy I2, 2004 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the actions of Captain James Phelan, Firefighter Terrence Scavone, <br />Firefightar Edward Murphy, Firefighter/EMT Eugene Mm'ay, Paramedic Supervisor Michael <br />Monahan, Paramedic Scot~ Mitzel, Paramedic Bruce Davey and, Firefighter/Paramedic Chuck <br />Yurcich resulted in saving the life of a 64 year old male who collapsed while walking down <br />Clitton Boulevard; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, an automatic exlerual defibrillator (AED) was employed by the first <br />responders, within one minute of arrival This immediate use was the determining factor in the <br />patient's survival; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the placements of automatic exterual defibrillators in the community allows <br />for rapid treatment of patiants in cardiac arrest; and, <br /> <br /> WI-EERt~AS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and <br />~ecovary rate of those ~vho experience sudden illness or injury Now, Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO' <br /> <br /> Section 1 That this Council and Mayor wish to commend the Division of Fire <br />Firefighters, Paramedics and EMT personnel for their dedication to the welfare of the residents <br />of this cormnunity. <br /> <br /> Section 2 That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br />forward a copy this Resolution to: Chief Lawrence E. Mroz, Fire Station No 1, 14601 Madison <br />Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio and a that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this <br />meeting <br /> <br /> Section 3 It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning <br />and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, <br />and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such <br />formal action were in rueetings open to the public in compliance with ali legal requirements. <br /> <br />Approved~,~/~/ My <br /> <br />PRESIDENT <br /> <br /> YOR <br /> <br /> <br />
