RESOLUTION NO. 7894-04 BY' Corrigan, Demro. Dever, Dunn, <br /> FitzGerald, Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Richard L. Gray for his more than thirty <br />years of public service, including twenty years of service as the Clerk of the Lakewood <br />Mtmicipal Court <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Richard L Gray commetlced his employment in the <br />Lake~vood Municipal Court as a Deputy CIerk in the Traffic/Cftminal Division in 1974, <br />and was appointed Clerk of Court in 1981, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through the years he has won the respect and affection of his <br />colieagues throughout the State of Ohio as evidenced by his Franklin A. Polk Public <br />Servants Merit Award in February, 2004, his Professional Certification Award by the O1io <br />Association of Municipal Court Clerks, and his election as past president of the Ohio <br />Association of Mm'dcipal Court Clerks as well as the Northeastern Ohio Municipal Court <br />Clerks Association, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Richard L. Grafs trademark frugality and fastidiousness <br />have contributed greatly to the Court's ability to run efficiently and for its practice of <br />returittng taxpayer dollars back to the General Ftard year after year, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Richard L. Gray has been characterized by his co-workers as a <br />compassionate, honorable, and fun-loving person willing to laugh at himself while <br />treating the concerns and problems of others with reverence and respect, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper, that the outstanding public <br />service randered by Richard L. Gray be given public cognizance and recognition in a <br />formal resolution; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCiL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1 Lakewood City Council extends to Richard L. Gray upon his <br />retirement its appreciation and the appreciation of ali of the citizens of this conunmilty for <br />l~s more than 30 years of devoted public service and hi parlicular his twenty years of <br />outstanding service as the Clerk of the Lakewood Mtmieipal Court mid further that this <br />Council wishes l~m continued years of service, success, health m~d prosperity <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the CIerk of ComlciI be and is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to Richard L. Gray, and that a copy <br />of this resolution be spread upon tile rahiutes of tiffs meeting <br /> <br />Vice President <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> <br />
