<br />RESOLUTION NO. 7904-04 <br /> <br />BY· Corrigan, Demro, Dever, Dunn. FitzGerald. <br />Madigan, Seelie. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor for and on <br />behalf of the City of Lakewood to enter into a Contract with the Western Reserve <br />Area Agency on Aging to accept funds for the City's programs covering <br />Social/Supportive and Nutrition Services, such contract providing partial funding <br />for supplemental programs under Title III of the 1965 Older Americans Act. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging is <br />administering a program of grants from the Federal Government under Title III of <br />the 1965 Older Americans Act whereby this City may obtain funds to provide <br />Programs for persons 60 years of age or older; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least five (5) members <br />elected thereto determines that this resolution is an emergency measure, and <br />that this resolution shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in <br />ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF <br />THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate <br />preservation of the public property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual <br />daily operation of municipal departments in that the grant must be submitted no <br />later than Juiy 16, 2004. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO' <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor, for and on behalf of the City of <br />Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract <br />with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, providing partial funding of the <br />City's Program under Title III ofthe 1965 Older Americans Act <br /> <br />Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted <br />in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings <br />open to the public in compli,ance with all legal requirements. <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />Section 3.
