Manigan, See1íe. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION to proclaim the month of September 2004 to be Speed Awareness <br />Safety Month in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, As a pedestrian ftiendly community with over 9,000 school age children, <br />providing our childrén with a safe envirorunent is one of the most important resources we can <br />provide for our community; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Lakewood Early Childhood PTA and the Lakewood Division of Police <br />have once again implemented the "Brake 4 Kids" lawn sign program, to raise awareness and <br />provide a safe environment for our children and the many pedestrians who utilize our <br />neighborhood streets; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A major goal of our safety enforcement program is education and the <br />ultimate goal of our traffic laws is to obtain voluntary compliance for our citizens. Getting the <br />message out to our residents through this unique Speed Awareness Program will assist our safety <br />forces in öur continuing efforts to make our community a safer place for our children, <br />pedestrians and all of our citizens Now therefore; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO.' <br /> <br />Section I That this Council and Mayor hereby recognize the month of September 2004 <br />as Speed Awareness Safety Month in the City of Lakewood in support of the efforts put forth by <br />the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA and the Lakewood Division of Police <br /> <br />Section 2.
